Food &  medicines

Our carers can help support a healthy diet in many ways. Helping to plan meals, preparing food, serving it and even providing assistance for individuals who have difficulty with eating or swallowing. We’re able to go shopping for food or if your loved one is active, take them and accompany them to do their shopping.

We manage and monitor medicine so that we know what medicines should be taken and at what times. If your loved one is forgetful or doesn’t like taking medicines, we can be present to prompt and encourage them to take their regular prescribed medication. We keep accurate records of medication administration so that the doctor can see that all is well or if any changes are required.

Companionship

Warmth and companionship are essential components of in-home care. Every individual we care for greatly benefits from the improved emotional wellbeing gained by having a small care team who form close, emotional bonds with them.

In some situations, like individuals living with dementia, companionship can help stimulate the mind, helping to delay the degenerative process of conditions such as Alzheimer’s.

Rest assured, HSL Care carers will help improve quality of life by helping your loved one have someone familiar to talk to.

For individuals able to exercise or in the course of rehabilitation, we can help, motivate and assist with regular exercise, under the instruction of a professional therapist.
